The Hyannis Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Sioux County Warriors on Friday. Hyannis will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Hyannis didn't have too much trouble with Garden County at home as they won 54-35.
Meanwhile, Sioux County's and Guernsey-Sunrise's contest on Thursday was close at halftime, but Sioux County turned on the heat in the second half with 28 points. Sioux County blew past Guernsey-Sunrise 50-30. The win was all the more spectacular given Sioux County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 265th in Nebraska, while Guernsey-Sunrise is ranked 58th in Wyoming).
Sioux County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shane Gluth, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cy Hughson, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Hyannis' victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.4 points. As for Sioux County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season.
