The team relied heavily on Brooklyn McCormick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May. The team also got some help courtesy of Celeste Mast, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Chugiak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dimond only posted a batting average of .200.
Chugiak's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Dimond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13.
Coming up, Chugiak will venture away from home to square off against South Anchorage at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2.6, the Wolverines 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Dimond does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
