Arroyo suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 last Friday. They were dealt a 57-28 loss at the hands of Gabrielino. It was the first time this season that Arroyo let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Rosemead's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Marshall on the road and fell 73-37.
Despite the loss, Rosemead saw an underclassman step up: Rhys Anderson scored 20 points. That was a full 54.1% of Rosemead's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Arroyo has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Rosemead, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Arroyo didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Rosemead in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory.
