DeQuincy is a perfect 3-0 against St. Louis Catholic since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will host the Saints at 5:00 p.m. DeQuincy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
If DeQuincy beats St. Louis Catholic with seven runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Tigers came out on top against Vinton by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 28, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Maddie Vinatieri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Onnie Remedies, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audi Flower, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, St. Louis Catholic got the win against DeRidder on Monday by a conclusive 10-3. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
St. Louis Catholic also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Mattie Fullington gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.
On the hitting side, Abby Traub was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Jillian Richard was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
DeQuincy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Louis Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. DeQuincy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like St. Louis Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went DeQuincy's way against St. Louis Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as DeQuincy made off with a 16-0 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
