The Atholton Raiders will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Wilde Lake Wildecats at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Atholton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 67-62 to River Hill.
Defeat or not, Atholton got some senior leadership from Camden Thibeault who scored 19 points along with six steals and Amir Shaheed who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Eli Appelbaum was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Wilde Lake humbled Owings Mills with a 81-35 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.
Atholton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wilde Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Things could have been worse for Atholton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-49 loss to Wilde Lake in their previous matchup back in December of 2022.
