The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Compass Academy's seven-point performance the game before.
Compass Academy was led to victory by Braxton Morris and Christian Davalos. Morris gained 160 total yards, while Davalos rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Davalos was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Ryan Farris also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Compass Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Tornillo, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Compass Academy will square off against Early at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Tornillo, they will head out on the road to face off against Wall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Wall's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Tornillo has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
