The Stafford Trojans won the last time they faced the South Barber Chieftains, and things went their way on Saturday too. Stafford snuck past South Barber with a 36-32 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Stafford.
Stafford found their leader in underclassman Jake Simmons, who scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simmons has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jimi Oleson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Stafford now has a winning record of 6-5. As for South Barber, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stafford on the road again on Tuesday and play against Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Fairfield is ranked 233rd, while Stafford is ranked 242nd). As for South Barber, they will head out on the road to square off against Attica on Tuesday. Attica is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
