Freedom typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Abington Heights proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 14-7 victory. The win was nothing new for the Comets as they're now sitting on four straight.
Riley McColligan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Kane, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Abington Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Abington Heights pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Freedom, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.
