Amber Alford looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Olivia Baird was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Pope, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Winnsboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Prairiland on Tuesday by a score of 7-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 18-4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Winnsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Winnsboro's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount Vernon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .450. It's a different story for Winnsboro, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Mount Vernon's hitters?
