Fort Wayne Wayne extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on Thursday.
Fort Wayne Wayne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Roemer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Makhi M also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
On Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' side, Cooper Peters and Daniel Murphy were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Peters pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Murphy tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Peters posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. At bat, Peters went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Murphy went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers got a massive performance out of Christian Brell, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Brell has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Diehm, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Fort Wayne Wayne has already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against Fort Wayne South Side on the 30th. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-6 win against Fort Wayne Snider on the 28th.
