The Spring Grove Rockets will face off against the New Oxford Colonials at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Spring Grove's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Muhlenberg to the tune of 35-0. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Muhls recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Spring Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davis Baum, who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 121 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. What's more, Baum posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Brody Redding was another key back, rushing for 122 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Spring Grove's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Jayden Moore with two sacks.
Meanwhile, New Oxford made easy work of Eastern York two weeks ago and carried off a 44-20 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Colonials' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 265th).
New Oxford's win came from a few key players Spring Grove will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alex Brown, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Brody Holmes, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Special teams played a big role in the game for New Oxford, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Holmes, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.
Spring Grove's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for New Oxford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
Spring Grove suffered a grim 44-21 defeat to New Oxford when the teams last played back in September of 2019. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
