It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Blessed Trinity Titans can now relate to. They suffered a tough 35-12 loss at the hands of Gainesville on Friday. Blessed Trinity's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Even if they lost, Blessed Trinity's defensive line still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dylan Torrico and John Winter who racked up four sacks between them.
Gainesville had a senior duo take command as Gavin Hall gained 91 total yards and four touchdowns and Baxter Wright rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown. Eric Hart also helped out with an impressive 104 receiving yards.
Blessed Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Gainesville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Blessed Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gainesville will take on Woodward Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodward Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
