The Christ Academy Warriors can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 34-33 photo finish over Accelerate Christian. That 34-33 margin sets a new team best for Christ Academy this season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blain Holman, who scored nine points. Jaxon McKnight was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Christ Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Accelerate Christian, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Accelerate Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Accelerate Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Holy Cross Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
