The John Curtis Christian Patriots will venture away from home to  face off against the Northlake Christian Wolverines  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
John Curtis Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Louisiana's top teams: Metairie Park Country Day, who was ranked ninth  at the time (John Curtis Christian was ranked 14th). The Patriots fell  3-1 to the Cajuns on Monday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Cajuns recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
 John Curtis Christian couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Metairie Park Country Day a tough time in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 27-29,  31-29.

 Despite the  defeat, John Curtis Christian had strong showings from  Mikaela Duncan, who  had 15  digs and one  assist, and  Makayla Morter, who  had 12  kills, nine  digs,  and one  block. Morter has been hot for a while, having  posted five or more  kills the last 24 times she's  played.
 Meanwhile, Northlake Christian entered their tilt with Pope John Paul II on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single  set of losing the streak, but they secured  a   3-2 W against the Jaguars.
 Northlake Christian's win bumped their record up to 18-10-1. As for John Curtis Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.
 John Curtis Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Northlake Christian when the teams last played  back in October of 2024, sneaking past  3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
