The Auburn Riverside Ravens will square off against the Mt. Rainier Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn Riverside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Auburn Riverside fell victim to Sunlake and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Seahawks, falling 8-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Ravens were not able to get on the board.
Auburn Riverside got a good showing from Makenna Vircks, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Auburn Riverside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danica Butler, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mt. Rainier ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Stadium. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kendall Parker was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Garrison, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Auburn Riverside's defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4. As for Mt. Rainier, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Mt. Rainier's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Auburn Riverside has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Mt. Rainier, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Auburn Riverside's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Auburn Riverside took their win against Mt. Rainier in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
