The Ocean View Christian Patriots pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Liberty Charter by a score of 58-56. Ocean View Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Liberty Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Liberty Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Duke Dengerink out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Bray, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
Ocean View Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Liberty Charter, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocean View Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on The Cambridge School at 5:00 p.m. on January 11th. Liberty Charter will take on Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
