Livingston is 0-3 against Little Cypress-Mauriceville since March of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lions will head out to square off against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Livingston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Northside a 16-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Northside's batters probably weren't too happy with Brooke Anderson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). Anderson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shelby Dickerson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Nelson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Hornets as they made off with an 11-2 win.
Tessa Erickson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Erickson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Stephenson, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Lexis Moss was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Little Cypress-Mauriceville lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hudson only launched one home run.
Little Cypress-Mauriceville's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 29-4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Livingston, their record now sits at 25-7.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Livingston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Little Cypress-Mauriceville struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
