With a playoff game on the line, the Limon Badgers rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against Banning Lewis Academy as Limon made off with a 41-18 victory. The win was just business as usual for Limon, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Limon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keon Bandy, who rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Lohgan Bottjer was another key contributor, gaining 152 total yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Banning Lewis Academy still got an impressive performance from Chase Riehle, who rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Riehle was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.
Limon's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.07 points. As for Banning Lewis Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-1.
Limon will square off against Meeker at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meeker is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Banning Lewis Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
