Jack Hauser looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because South Plantation is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 6-9 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Benjamin Coffey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Scott Pinnock also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, South Broward got the win against Sports Leadership & Management on Thursday by a conclusive 11-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Shaun Shapiro looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Keniel Marrero was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Giancarlo Rivera, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
South Broward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive matches.
South Plantation's record now sits at 8-10. As for South Broward, their record is now 9-11-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Plantation has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Broward struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
South Plantation couldn't quite get it done against South Broward in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Paladins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
