The Cambridge N/A lost against the Mechanicville Red Raiders back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Cambridge took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mechanicville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cambridge in their matchups with Mechanicville: they've now lost four in a row.
Several N/A players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samantha Crandall, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds and 3 steals. Megan Day was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 4 steals.
Cambridge bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Mechanicville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Cambridge's road trip will continue as they head out to face Granville at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Granville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Mechanicville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Saratoga Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m.
