The Tate Aggies won the last time they faced the Pace Patriots, and things went their way on Saturday too. Tate took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 74-42 win over the Patriots. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-12.
Tate had a senior duo take command as Deonne Williams, jr. scored 13 points along with six rebounds and Lucas Williams scored nine points along with six steals and five assists. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Brayden Bray-hasty was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Pace had strong showings from Joeseph Skipworth, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Tylon Lee, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Tate has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Pace, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-16.
Tate will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Booker T. Washington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. As for Pace, they and the Crusaders will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Pensacola Catholic is ranked 613th, while the Patriots are ranked 600th).
