The Council Grove Braves suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Lyndon, falling 77-41. Council Grove has not had much luck with Lyndon recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Council Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kolby Rose. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Rose pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kyzer Spittles was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Council Grove's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lyndon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams will face off on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lyndon will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak alive. They won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Council Grove on January 19th. Council Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Lyndon is ranked 39th).
