Charleston Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Layla Carter, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Telina Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Poca lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alyssa Raynes, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Lindzie Runions, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Charleston Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Poca, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charleston Catholic will challenge the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roane County will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Poca will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bison at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
