Baseball Recap: Whitman Has No Trouble Against Poolesville

After only one run in their last game, Whitman made sure to put some runs up on the board against Poolesville on Monday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 10-2 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Charlie Buckles made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Buckles was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Marcus Dober was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Sammy Angel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Whitman's victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1. As for Poolesville, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Whitman and Poolesville will both be playing Wootton the next time they take the field. The Vikings will host the Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
