After three games on the road, Sheldon is heading back home. They will take on the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Sheldon strolled past Davis Sr. with points to spare, taking the game 71-53. Given Sheldon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Davis Sr. is ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pleasant Grove suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 88-63 walloping at the hands of Franklin. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Pleasant Grove has suffered against Franklin since February 3, 2020.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Elijah Sykes and Aiden Rollins. Rollins had a great game and scored 14 points along with five assists. Meanwhile, Sykes was balling out in the loss, scoring 27 points.
Sheldon's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Pleasant Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Sheldon strolled past Pleasant Grove in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 83-66. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pleasant Grove's Colin Billy, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Sheldon to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
