Aberdeen hasn't had much luck against WF West recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bobcats will look to defend their home field against the Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. Aberdeen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Aberdeen faced off against Centralia on Tuesday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Gabe Matthews and Chad Fretts made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Matthews pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fretts pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Matthews posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three contests. At bat, Matthews went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Fretts went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Baker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Aberdeen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bubba Jones, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.
Aberdeen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, WF West came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Thunderbirds.
WF West's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Aberdeen, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Aberdeen might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from WF West in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
