The Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Friday, Wabasha-Kellogg was beaten by the Bulldogs 62-33. That's two games in a row now that Wabasha-Kellogg has lost by exactly 29 points.
Wabasha-Kellogg's loss came about despite a quality game from Ileana DeAngel, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 75.8% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lucy Traun, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Wabasha-Kellogg struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-6) when they just don't pass the ball.
Meanwhile, LeRoy-Ostrander's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-45 walloping at the hands of Spring Grove. LeRoy-Ostrander has struggled against the Lions recently, as their game on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Wabasha-Kellogg dropped their record down to 2-19 with that defeat, which was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.
Wabasha-Kellogg beat the Cardinals 55-47 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wabasha-Kellogg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
