Regis Groff is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: DSST: College View, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Regis Groff was ranked ninth). The Fusion won by a set and slipped past the Wolves 3-2.
Regis Groff was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-13.

Regis Groff can attribute much of their success to Chris Ta, who had 11 digs and five assists. That's the most digs Ta has posted over his last seven matches.
Meanwhile, Denver South didn't have quite enough to beat Denver East on Thursday and fell 3-2.
Denver South started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 21-25, 25-16, 25-15, 15-8.
Denver South has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Regis Groff, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
