Softball Recap: Fairport's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

While Fairport's win against Brighton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Bruins on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Raiders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Julia Poligone was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Allison Runke was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple.

Fairport's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Brighton, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Fairport will welcome Greece Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brighton, they will take on Churchville-Chili at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
