If the St. Brendan Sabres were riding high off their 64-23 takedown of the Sunset Knights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Brendan was beaten by Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart 54-27 on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Brendan has scored all season.
Despite the loss, St. Brendan still got an impressive performance from Sofia Toro, who scored ten points.
Leading Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart to victory were Josephine Salazar and Alissa Azcuy. Salazar scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Azcuy scored 15 points along with six assists. Azcuy hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Garcia-Pons, who scored 11 points.
St. Brendan's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
St. Brendan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Miami at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. Miami will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, they will play host again and welcome TERRA Environmental, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
