Belle Plaine and the Indians are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Belle Plaine Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Medicine Lodge Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Belle Plaine might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 50-26 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Belle Plaine has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Medicine Lodge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 51-45 to the Roadrunners. Medicine Lodge has not had much luck with the Roadrunners recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Belle Plaine dropped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.4 points per game. As for Medicine Lodge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Belle Plaine beat the Indians 48-36 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belle Plaine since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
