After a string of six wins, The Chapel Hill Bulldogs''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 35-23 to Lindale. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Chapel Hill came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Lindale is ranked 228th).
When it comes to explaining why Chapel Hill lost , one person who can't be blamed is Rickey Stewart. Despite the final result, he rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Stewart's longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvin Mayfield, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Having lost for the first time this season, Chapel Hill fell to 6-1. Lindale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
