The Diller-Odell Griffin struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (the Fairbury Jeffs were 23% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Diller-Odell took a 40-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairbury.
Despite the loss, Diller-Odell had strong showings from Cooper Morgan, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Braydin Wendland, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Blake Starr, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks for Fairbury. Another player making a difference was Drew Watson, who scored ten points.
Diller-Odell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fairbury, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.
Diller-Odell will be home for the holidays to greet Hanover on Thursday. One thing working in Hanover's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Fairbury will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Bruning-Davenport/Shickley is ranked 162nd, while Fairbury is ranked 140th).
