St. Charles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They really took it to McDonough for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-29 win at home. Fans of St. Charles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
McKenzie Thomas had a dynamite game for St. Charles, scoring 28 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of St. Charles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayja Richardson, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
St. Charles' victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for McDonough, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles will square off against Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McDonough, they will head out on the road to face off against Calvert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Calvert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
