The Oakmont Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Oakmont pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-57 bruising from Ponderosa. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oakmont in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Lincoln's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Placer. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Hillmen are ranked 110th).
Oakmont has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
Oakmont suffered a grim 83-58 defeat to the Fighting Zebras in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lincoln's Michael Neely, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Now that Oakmont knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
