The Rocksprings Angoras will be playing at home against the Sabinal Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only 12 points in their last contest, Rocksprings made sure to put some points up on the board against La Pryor on Friday. Rocksprings breezed by La Pryor on the road to the tune of 40-7.
Meanwhile, everything went Sabinal's way against Center Point on Friday as Sabinal made off with a 28-6 win. Sabinal's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Israel Gonzales continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 183 yards while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Gonzales really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Vasquez, who threw for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
Rocksprings' win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.67 points. As for Sabinal, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Rocksprings came up short against Sabinal in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 20-14. Will Rocksprings have more luck at home instead of on the road?
