Volleyball Recap: Colville's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. George's, Colville was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Northport Mustangs by a score of 3-1. The Crimson Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Colville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19.

Northport's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Beardslee, who had 11 kills, eight digs, two blocks, and two aces. Beardslee is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abi Bonner, who had six aces and five digs.

With the victory, Colville broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Northport, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colville will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tonasket at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Northport, they will challenge Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
