The Kit Carson Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Saturday, Kit Carson took a serious blow against the Wolves, falling 78-44. While losing is never fun, Kit Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Wolves are ranked 127th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brennan Framel, who scored 12 points along with three blocks. It was the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Josiah Irwin, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 54-33 defeat at the hands of Byers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Evangel Christian Academy has scored all season.
Kit Carson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Kit Carson took a serious blow against the Eagles when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 64-28. Thankfully for Kit Carson, Michael Kim (who scored 30 points along with six rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
