AAAA Region 7A recap October 1, 2013
Cedartown added to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 7A this week by beating Southeast Whitfield County, 42-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Pickens moved up to 113 from 172 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Dragons were able to move up by besting Ridgeland 41-28.
Pickens' Tanner Brumby and Shannon Brooks have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Brumby has thrown for 367 yards this season, while Brooks has 5 catches for 124 yards. Cedartown's Nick Chubb leads the league in rushing yards with 593.
An important game coming up in AAAA Region 7A this week will be when Scott Hendrix's team takes on River Ridge. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in first, while the Knights are in fifth.
Chris Parker's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,933 from 4,360. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-28 victory over the Panthers last week.
