Even though the St. Petersburg Green Devils scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the East Lake Eagles still came out on top. East Lake took down St. Petersburg 72-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Lake.
East Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Church, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Brown, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
East Lake's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for St. Petersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
East Lake will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Green Level at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. St. Petersburg's road trip will continue as they head out to face Calvary Christian at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th.
