In what's become a running theme this season, Robertson gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Raton 80-53 at home. Given Robertson's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Raton is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Mateo Contreras, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Jesse James Gonzales, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Prep suffered a rough 77-56 defeat at the hands of Santa Fe Indian on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Santa Fe Prep in their matchups with Santa Fe Indian: they've now lost five in a row.
Robertson's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. As for Santa Fe Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
