The Berean Academy Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Sale Creek out 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Berean Academy to victory were Daniel Wigginton and Austen Harvey. Wigginton scored 23 points, while Harvey scored 29 points. It was the first time this season that Wigginton scored 15 or more points.
Berean Academy's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Sale Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berean Academy will take on Tennessee Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 316 points over their last five games. As for Sale Creek, they will be playing at home against Chattanooga Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chattanooga Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday.
