The Rolla Pirates lost to the Walsh Eagles back in February of 2020, but the Rolla Pirates didn't allow the Walsh Eagles the same satisfaction on Friday. Rolla had just enough and edged Walsh out 34-32.
Rolla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brynlee Williams, who scored 4 points along with 10 rebounds.
Maribel Carrillo and Kayla Penick certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Carrillo scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds, while Penick scored 11 points.
The win got Rolla back to even at 1-1. As for Walsh, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Rolla will head out on the road to face off against Minneola at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Walsh, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kim/Branson at 4:00 p.m.
