Patten Academy took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Apostles Lutheran on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Patten Academy of the 52-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Patten Academy still got an impressive performance from Empire Hall, who scored 22 points. That was a full 66.7% of Patten Academy's points, marking the 13th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aaron Donahue was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Apostles Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Kim led the charge by scoring nine points along with seven steals. Kim is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Bork, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Patten Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Apostles Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
