Manteca hasn't had much luck against Oakdale recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buffaloes will take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Manteca is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Armijo get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Manteca got a great performance from Isabel Tonna as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Tonna has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sienna Owen was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Moncada, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Oakdale waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Bruins. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 10-2).
Jaelyn Lee (UOP) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Lee (UOP) was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Lee (UOP) wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reese Donaldson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Jayci Volonte was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Oakdale pushed their record up to 15-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Manteca, they moved to 20-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Manteca couldn't quite finish off Oakdale when the teams last played back in April and fell 10-8. Can the Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
