The Norland Vikings have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Bolles Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Norland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Bolles likes a good challenge.
Norland had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Central 31-28. Norland's win was all the more impressive since Central was averaging only 16.08 points allowed on the season.
It was another big night for Ennio Yapoor, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 231 yards and a touchdown on only 18 passes.
Meanwhile, Bolles can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over Bishop Moore. Bolles' victory was all the more impressive since Bishop Moore was averaging only 17.54 points allowed on the season.
Bolles' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DJ Moore, who threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Naeem Burroughs, who picked up 159 receiving yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bolles' defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Martin Geary and his two sacks.
Norland pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Bolles, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
