2A-2 Region II District 5 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Nocona extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region II District 5 this week by beating City View, 42-9. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Nocona.
Nocona took down the Mustangs 42-9 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tate Fenoglio ran for 245 yards in the win.
Brad Keck's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hayden Hill threw for 13 yards and Edward Cardoza had 13 yards receiving.
Nocona's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Nocona feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hill has thrown for 482 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Cardoza has 16 catches for 284 yards. Fenoglio leads the league in rushing with 1305 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Holliday takes on the Nocona. As it stands, the Eagles are in fifth, while Nocona is in first.
City View made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,757 from 9,002. The advance stemmed from a 42-9 victory over the Mustangs last week.
