Baseball Recap: Madeira Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Madeira waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Finneytown Wildcats as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Keegan World was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Shafer, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Madeira lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Madeira's record is now 9-4. As for Finneytown, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madeira will host Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Middies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.25 runs per game on average), something the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Finneytown, they will be playing at home against Deer Park at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
