Lincoln-Way East faced Beecher in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Griffins never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Griffins have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lincoln-Way East's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Beecher, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 21-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln-Way East will square off against Lincoln-Way Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Griffins have won nine straight at home, while the Knights won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Beecher, they will challenge Clifton Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
