Wilsonville put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They claimed a resounding 86-16 victory over Hood River Valley on the road. Given Wilsonville's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Hood River Valley is ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilsonville found their leader in underclassman Gabi Moultrie, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 8 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moultrie has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Ratcliffe, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro was beaten by Wilsonville 66-24 on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hillsboro has scored all season.
Wilsonville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Hillsboro, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Wilsonville against Hillsboro in their previous meeting on Saturday as the squad secured a 66-24 victory. Will Wilsonville repeat their success, or does Hillsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
